I just read this poem in the train. Monsoon is about to arrive… and
I find these words to be the most innocent expression of related
happiness

This poem has been taken from केदारनाथ अग्रवाल’s book - ” पंख और
पतवार”, published in 1980.

बादल और पौधे

पौधे,
बतियातें है पत्तों से,
बादल से कहते हैं-
आओ जी,
आओ जी,
आओ!

बादल,
धमकाते है बिजली से,
पौदों से कहते हैं-
ठहरो जी,
ठहरो जी,
ठहरो !

पौधे,
घबराते हैं गर्मी से,
बादल से कहते हैं-
बरसो जी,
बरसो जी
बरसो !

बादल,
घहराते है करुना से,
पौदों से कहते हैं-
पानी लो,
पानी लो,
पानी !

पौधे,
लहराते हैं लहरों से,
बादल से कहते हैं-
सागर है,
सागर है,
सागर!
